Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A senior official said the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be solved quickly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
