Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the area, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.
